  • How do I switch to Powershop?

    Switching to Powershop is simple. We’ll give you an instant quote online. All you'll need is your credit card, debit card or bank account details. It’s also a good idea to have a copy of your latest bill to hand, so the details you give us about your energy usage are as accurate as possible. And, that’s it. If you choose to go ahead, we’ll take care of everything, including contacting your existing supplier.

  • Does it cost anything to switch to Powershop?

    Not a penny! You can switch to us free of charge, unless your property doesn't have an electricity supply (or gas if you’re choosing dual fuel). In such a case, we’ll advise you of the costs in advance. It’s also worth checking your current contract. Your current provider may charge you an exit fee if you switch before it comes to an end.

  • Will my supply be cut off when I switch?

    No, you’ll be able to carry on using your gas and electricity throughout. Switching to Powershop simply involves the transfer of information. Your equipment and energy supply will remain exactly the same. Just make sure you continue to pay your current supplier until the switch is complete.

  • How will my monthly payments be set up?

    Switch to Powershop Pro and you only pay for the energy you use. You can buy your energy with Powerpacks by direct debit, credit card or debit card. Just let us know what suits you best when you sign up.

    • Direct debit verification: If you choose to pay by direct debit, we just need to check that your address details are correct. To do this we’ll send you a letter with a five-character confirmation code. When you receive it, all you need to do is log in to your Powershop account and enter the code when prompted.
    • Credit card or debit card verification: If you choose to pay by debit or credit card a £1 pre-authorisation transaction will be charged to your card. This is just to verify your card, so there is no actual cost. Once your card has been verified it will disappear. With VISA debit cards, this transaction may be reapplied each day for up to 10 days before it is cleared
  • What do I do if there’s a problem with my switch?
